Introduction to the phenomena associated with the resistance of
materials to damage under severe environmental conditions. Oxidation,
corrosion, stress corrosion, corrosion fatigue and radiation damage are

Technology and Systems for Microelectronics Materials Manufacturing;

This course presents the cross-disciplinary character of
microelectronics manufacturing as it integrates the science of materials
processing, equipment and process technologies for manufacturing, and
the systems concepts and methodologies which dominate technology
development and enterprise operation in the microelectronics industry.
It includes an overview of semiconductor technology integration,
specific examples of process science and technology in the context of
their applications and manufacturability, and the manufacturing metrics
and systems approaches which drive technology evolution. A specific
research project relevant to the industrys state-of-art is the focus for
student work, both in teams and as individuals.
