Pre- or corequisite: JOUR 101. Prerequisite: 30 words per minute wordprocessing ability: and grammar competency demonstrated by a score of 52 or higher on the TSWE and JOUR 200. Introduction to news for the print and electronic media, development of new concepts: laboratory in news-gathering tools and writing skills. Must have at least 28 credits earned. A 5-minute word processing (Word Perfect) test is given each Friday during preregistration. A 30-word per minute proficiency is required to register. Students must also demonstrate grammar skills competency prior to receiving permission to register. For more information stop by 1117 JRN or call 405-2399. A proficiency test of JOUR 201 credit taken at another institution may be given. See Meg Brewer in JRN 1117 to arrange sitting for this exam prior to the first day of classes.
