FOLA Foreign Language ( Arts and Humanities)MODERN GREEK COURSES ARE NOW LISTED UNDER THE GREK PREFIX OFFERED BY THE CLASSICS DEPARTMENT INSTEAD OF THE FOLA PREFIX OFFERED UNDER THE SCHOOL OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES.
SELF-INSTRUCTIONAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM. The program is essentially self-instructional and enrollment is strictly limited. The student supplies a blank tape and receives a recorded tape with the week's lesson. There is also a manual designed for self-instruction which the student is required to purchase. A native speaking tutor will be assigned to drill the student in the material learned from the tape and the accompanying manual. Attendance at drill sessions is required. There will be one final examination administered by an outside examiner.The entire semester's grade will derive from this examination. All students planning to take one of the following courses (FOLA 138_- FOLA 159_) must complete an application (available in JMZ 1109). A mandatory orientation and scheduling meeting will be held at the beginning of the semester. Details will be posted outside of JMZ 1109. *Only the languages listed below are offered in the program.
