Prerequisites: MATH240; and PHYS263. Techniques of detecting and making measurements of nuclear or high energy radiation. Radiation safety experiments. Both a subcritical reactor and the swimming pool critical reactor are sources of radiation.

System specifications and modes of operation. Plant documentation (PSAR,FSAR, etc.). Piping and instrumentation drawings. Theory and application of pump and piping calculations. Steam power plant cycles and calculations. Steam plant equipment (turbines, heaters, condensers, etc.) analysis.
