Launch SIS Now

To be able to use the link above, please follow the instructions below.

Please note that following instructions will only work if you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP. You must also have the Hummingbird Host Explorer application with which you currently use to connect to SIS.

First find the path to your SIS connection using one of the following methods:

  • Method 1:
    1. Right-click with your mouse on the icon you normally use to connect to SIS
    2. Left-click with your mouse on properties
    3. Copy to your clipboard the text that appears in "Target".

  • Method 2:
    1. Left-click with mouse on "Start" icon (usually in bottom row, left corner of your PC window)
    2. Move curser to "Programs", which expands to all programs available
    3. Move curser to "Host Explorer", which again expands
    4. Now move curser to TN3270 and right-click with mouse to show properties
    5. Move curser to properties and left-click with mouse
    6. Copy to your clipboard the text that appears in "Target" (this saves you from having to write it down and type it later by hand in the next step)

Now set up your PC to allow launching SIS from Web

  1. Double-Click 'My Computer'
  2. From the menu click 'Tools' and 'Folder Options'
  3. Click on 'File Types' tab.
  4. In the list select 'N/A URL: TN3270 Protocol'
  5. Click the 'Advanced' button
  6. Click on 'Edit'
  7. Where it says "Application used to perform action", you need to enter the path for the TN3270 app being used. Paste the path that you copied earlier in your clipboard.
  8. Click 'OK' when finished
